Web Manager – Buckingham £25-35k
We’re looking for a talented Web Manager for an exciting new client, a leading edge international consulting firm. The business has developed a systems thinking methodology to help its service sector clients change their management thinking to improve organisational performance, they want to develop their portfolio of sites to provide a platform to showcase their digital assets and an ability to engage with their community.
The Role:
They’re creating this new Web Manager role to support further establishment and growth of a number of its websites.
We’re looking for a talented candidate who understands web technology with experience in working either as a Webmaster/Web Manager or in Web Design/Development who would now like to broaden their skills and take on a more expansive role. It is essential that you have an interest in seeking the latest technologies and trends with a passion for improving material produced by testing new ideas. You will be creative and have a keen eye for detail.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all technical aspects of managing, updating, and maintaining content across various websites including a Podcast, Blog, Video Gallery and plans for the development of a number of new on-line and distance learning websites. You will also work with consultants to find creative ways of transforming their message into Digital assets to enhance the sites.
In addition to the maintenance of these websites, our Web Manager will be responsible for the creation of digital assets to be used on the web sites. These assets will include video and audio as well HTML documents. The candidate will also be involved with the creation of learning materials produced to sound pedagogical principles. Experience in an eLearning or distance learning environment would be highly advantageous.
Skills and Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must:
• have demonstrable skills in maintaining website content. This will include the creation of graphic elements, editing and deploying audio, editing and deploying video. Experience with the following is considered essential;
-HTML
-PHP
-MySQL
• have had previous experience of managing a Podcast, including the technical production as well as creative planning and design aspects.
• have demonstrable skills in the technical and creative aspects of video production. These will include recording video to a high quality (sound / lighting / camera skills) as well as editing. You will be expected to demonstrate familiarity with the technologies supporting video production, including encoding methods. Experience with Final Cut Pro is essential.
• be willing to learn how to use new software as the work requires.
• be able to work under their own initiative, communicate clearly and act in a highly professional manner at all times.
• this role will include interacting with clients, therefore time-keeping, precision and personal presentation are considered to be of paramount importance.
• have experience in working with external agencies and hosting suppliers
• have a good working knowledge of commonly used technologies that support distance and e-learning
