We’re looking for a Technical Director for one of our most exciting clients – Innovative, Award Winning and a new breed of Digital Marketing Agency. They’re a leading ‘Social Media Focussed’ Agency with Global Offices in 6 cities, and a HQ here in Central London, who is responsible for engaging with customers and building online presence and drawing in traffic for the biggest brands in the UK and Worldwide.

We are looking for a Technical Director for their London office. The Technical Director will help expand and enhance the agency’s technical and digital capability for 2012 and beyond, growing the existing team as well as overseeing expansion into new and emerging social media technologies

We’re looking for somebody to manage and grow a tech team, but we see that is essential to understand the platforms we work with, building platforms using like Drupal & WordPress, Apps that fit on Facebook & Twitter and Geo Location on Mobile & Foursqaure!
Technically you’re development background will be in:
- Good level of understanding of the basics of computer programming and web applications.
- Experience in PHP and MySQL required. Experience with self-hosted WordPress a bonus.
- Front end: experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Your experience doesn’t have to be extensive, but you must know your way around them hands on and be familiar with how the tools like in use in the Social Media space. Don’t worry if you’re not too hot on design & creative, this is a development management role!

Goals & responsibilities:
– Oversee planning, management and execution of social media technical solutions for a range of clients.
– Develop and expand the current technical team to become a full-sized team by the end of 2012.
– Expand and diversify the in-house technical team’s capabilities, especially with respect to emerging technologies.
– Co-ordinate with other development teams worldwide on international projects.
– Manage technical relationship with 3rd party development houses (if used).
– Manage and nurture technical relationships with key platforms (Facebook, Twitter) & key partners (Wildfire, Offerpop, Syncapse etc).
– Improve technical capability of the agency as a whole across every department.
– Contribute to the agency’s long-term strategy for world domination.

Experience:
– Managing backend development of web applications in PHP & MySQL on a LAMP stack, in particular WordPress.
– Managing frontend development of web applications in HTML, CSS, JavaScript; work with HTML5/CSS3 a bonus.
– Managing development of Facebook apps and with social APIs such as Facebook’s Open Graph and the Twitter API.
– Familiarity with the unique requirements for social applications and the challenges they bring.
– Liaising with accounts teams and clients to produce product briefs and specifications.
– Mapping information architecture, planning user journeys and site wireframes.
– Project management and leading a team of developers on successful digital projects for clients.
– Knowledge of different software engineering management models (e.g. agile, scrum, waterfall).

Salary in the region of £50-55,000

They’re hiring for a Creative Director will drive the overall design language of the brand and products across its applications and campaigns. Together with product managers, developers, marketers, and editors you will use your talents to communicate our mission and value to consumers and help redefine the way people experience wine and epicurean products. You will also be responsible for building and leading a team of designers based out of our London office.

Responsibilities:
-Experience being the primary driver and owner of the visual aspects of website and email product
-Strong command over all elements of design, layout, typography and UX
-Ability to design visually attractive and highly usable interfaces
-Ability to contribute to product and marketing direction with original and creative concepts
-Build a team of designers, managing and mentoring them
-Maintain individual brand guidelines while aligning with the brand image
-Follow style-guides established for product and photography
-Creative preparation, art direction and management of photography

Desired Skills:
-4+ years of experience as a creative director, preferably well versed in ecommerce website and email presentation
-Past experience being a major brand stakeholder
-Strong design background and eye for composition
-Strong time management, communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to multi-task
-In-depth knowledge of photographers and production processes
-Proficient in latest design tools (Adobe Creative Suite)
-BFA or equivalent in Graphic Design, Advertising or related subject
-Some Web Technology skills will be advantageous – HTML, CSS, CMS etc etc

Freelance writers required by Digital/Social tech agency on a weekly basis! We have a client looking to create an industry platform/newsletter/blog specifically about developments on the Facebook Platform.

The idea is we want to create a weekly/fortnightly newsletter (possibly blog) that covers the ever changing FB developer platform/API/open graph and technical intricacies around Facebook and its usage in Social Marketing.

The core audience for the writing will be advertising agencies that need to develop Facebook apps/pages for their client’s campaigns, namely Tech Directors, Production Directors and Digital Producers.

The newsletter should be a sort of round up of ‘this week on the Facebook developer platform’ in plain English…. In essence it should be https://developers.facebook.com/blog/ written in a way that a ad agency producer can understand and something them that inspires them with ideas for their client campaign.

This could be an excellent opportunity to build a portfolio of writing in this space, and extend ones knowledge in the space with added research and writing.
